Michael Silversher is a Grammy Award- winning songwriter (Elmo in Grouchland), with three primetime Emmy nominations, including two for Winnie-the-Pooh and one for the Muppets. In addition to writing the theme songs for Disney’s television series, Tale Spin and Gummi Bears, he has over one hundred songs in the Disney catalogue, has written over forty-two musical theatre works, and has worked extensively with Jim Henson Productions, MGM, Sony, Warner Bros., The Learning Channel, Kennedy Center, Los Angeles Opera, South Coast Repertory Theatre, Mark Taper Forum. Kaiser Permanente educational show and Sundance Institute. He is co-founder of the West Coast and an advisory board member of the Academy for New Musical Theatre. He is currently the composer for the PBS hit show, Dinosaur Train and a new series with the Henson Company, Pajanimals and working in collaboration with Joy Sikorski on an historical fiction novel. Joy Sikorski, M.A., founder of SingBabySing®, a prenatal and infant music training site, and Singing Mastermind, an online singing lessons site. Her credits include a National Public Relations Society Award for music in a documentary film and story content, a feature film music score, radio commercials, an international album, works for piano and voice, solo flute, tuba, violin, adult and children’s choirs, as well as other incidental music. She is also co-founder of “Caring for the Kenai,” an award-winning environmental awareness contest featured on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” whose contestants have received the President’s Environmental Youth Award. Her free video singing lesson tips have had over 500,000 views in more than 40 countries. In addition to performance, speaking and workshop engagements, her current projects include the book, Sideways Sleep: 21 days in the life of an artist on a mountain, a new historical fiction novel co-written with Michael Silversher and a new musical, Gathering Blue, based on a novel by Newberry Award winner Lois Lowry.
